CHR Chapter Leaders
Interested in being a chapter leader?
Would you be interested in leading a chubby hikers chapter in your county? I am looking for a few people who embody the spirit of why I started Chubby Hiker Reviews: to encourage people to enjoy the great Maine outdoors, no matter their size. A few requirements:
- Must be someone who lives in a bigger body. The ideal candidate would be someone that considers themselves plus sized, thick, fat, chubby, etc.
- Prior hiking experience
- Ability to lead and willingness to plan and organize group hikes
- Flexible availability for said hikes
- A passion for the Maine outdoors and promoting responsible recreation. Practicing leave no trace, etc.
- Promotion of body acceptance. We do not want to encourage an unhealthy diet culture. These groups will not be about weight loss, but rather being able to enjoy movement in your body as it is right now.
- Social media savvy. I would like to start separate Instagram's and fb groups for each county. I am looking for someone who is willing to manage these and post regularly about their group hikes. I want to be able to see and share in the fun! Tagged posts will be shared on the main page.
- Willingness to participate in a few zoom calls a year to plan larger events for the whole state.
